The NAACP's principal objective is to ensure the political, educational, social and economic equality of minority group citizens of United States and eliminate race and prejudice. The NAACP seeks to remove all barriers of racial discrimination through the democratic processes. This mission is accomplished by seeking the enactment and enforcement of federal, state and local laws securing civil rights, and by informing the public of the adverse effects of discrimination, public policies, and other issues that impact our community. The NAACP offers scholarships and much more to African Americans.
