The United States Census Bureau is has as a mission to serve "as the leading source of quality data about the nation's people and economy." The Bureau honors privacy, protects confidentiality, shares their expertise globally, and conducts their work openly. The goal of the Bureau is to provide the best mix of timeliness, relevancy, quality, and cost for the data they collect and the services they provide.The Bureau is part of the U.S Department of Commerce.
This website is very usefull, in the mail page there are many tools available. It contains a population finder where just by typing the city/ town, county, zip, or state gives you a population estimate, population trends of three years, Map of Persons per Square Mile: United States by State, and Map of Persons per Square Mile: California by County. Another available tool is "Find An Area Profile with QuickFacts" where by selecting the state gives you percentages from the State in comparison of......
