This I Believe

When I was a little kid growing up I was told that there is a God out there. I wasn\\\\\\\'t quite sure there was because I couldn\\\\\\\'t see him. I would never believe in anything unless I could physical touch and see it. Every night I would pray to this unknown \\\\\\\"God\\\\\\\" and ask him to show himself if he truly
existed. Day by day I would slowly lose faith in knowing what I was told. Sadly enough I didn\\\\\\\'t believe in God.
My parents never forced me to go to church, but that was only because they didn\\\\\\\'t. My dad was never home, because the army always kept him away. As for my mom, she was left here all alone in this foreign state: in the middle of now where, without a car. Over time my dad would get upset at all of us for little things; my siblings and I were afriad to go anywhere with him. He wasn\\\\\\\'t abusive, he just had a strong temper.
