Untitled (A 10 Minute Play)
The curtain opens on Allison who is standing center stage in the middle of a funeral home in the small, rural, wealthy city of Mandeville, Louisiana staring at a large frame full of pictures of Kevin from his childhood and early adolescence. Her eyes are watery and red and her liquid eyeliner is smeared all over her face. Her shoulder-length chocolate brown hair is in a messy half ponytail, yet it still looks like she spent hours fixing it. The room is full of people standing around telling stories about Kevin, who committed suicide the week before, yet it seems like she is the only person there. She starts sobbing hysterically when Trevor and Michael, Kevin's two best friends, walk up and stand next to her.
ALLISON (Mournfully.)
I wish there was some way someone could have seen this coming. He was only nineteen.
TREVOR
Well, I kinda could. I mean, lets be honest here, if you were my girlfriend I'd probably put a gun to my head too.
ALLISON (Angrily.)
