Vietnam War
Hello, I am writing a paper on the Vietnam War. In this paper I am going to reveal to you what the war was about and why we were in it. So all in all im going to explain the turning points in the war and what it was.
To fully understand why we entered the war you must understand the events that happened prior to our involvement in the war. After the cold war the U.S Government put a policy into place called containment, and that policy is to stop the spread of communism. In-between 1950 and 1965 we entered the war slowly until we had a huge involvement in the war. Now in 1950 the North invaded the South. The North was led by Ho Chi Minh a communist and the South was led by the French Army. So according to the containment policy we gave the French aid with money and advisers to help the french gain control and help fight off the North. But France crumbled to the offensive of the North and lost control.
Now in 1954 the French lost control over their land at their defeat point......
