A Midsummer Night's Dream
William Shakespeare wrote the play A Midsummer Night's Dream between 1595 and 1596. In Shakespeare's famous comedy love is an important concept. The different characters have different views on love that they express, and throughout the play, Shakespeare portrays a general attitude about it. A Midsummer Night's Dream opens with Theseus and Hippolyta planning there wedding which takes place in four days Hermia is in love Lysander but her father wants her to marry Demetrius. Instead Egeus declare she must marry Demetrius or be put to death or spend her life in a nunnery. Lysander and Helena come up with the plan to escape from Athens and marry outside its unjust laws. Helena over hears them and tells Demetrius in hopes of gaining his love, she's rather cynical about love because she's always been turned from, especially her own love, she is skeptical when she's loved. Meanwhile in the fairy enchanted woods Puck and one of Titania fairies discuss the argument between Oberon and Titania......
