Names. To some people, names are just what you call a person or place, but in this story names are more than just a way of identifying people and places. Names are used to foreshadow events. The names give clues to what the person is like inside or out. In the following paragraphs, I will take an in-depth analysis of the names and other symbols in this book.
Adam is the main character’s name. Adam means first man. His name symbolizes the bible story of Adam and Eve. Adam farmer is looking for his father just as the biblical Adam was. Eve was the troublemaker who got Adam in trouble. Eve is symbolized by Amy.
Amy Hertz. Hertz is more than just a car place. Hertz symbolizes the word hurts. Amy means beloved. So, together Amy Hertz means beloved hurts or my friend hurts. Her friend is Adam and he is hurting.
Adam’s mother’s name is Louise. Throughout the story, Louise was always very upset with Grey but she didn’t lose herself in her anger. She remained a......
