Cask Of Amontilldo
In the story A Rose for Emily written by William Faulkner the author writes in a way that allows the reader to understand that minor characters are just as important to a story as the major characters. I felt that character and setting in this story was very important. The author's use of characterization creates vivid images so that the reader can get to know and understand what is happening to the characters. The setting of this story is just as important as the characters as it allows the reader to easily relate and visualize what life was like for Emily in this small town.
In this story Emily would be considered a round character. The author writes the story almost entirely around her. We know a great deal of history about Emily and what motivates her to do some of the things she does. We see this when the author writes of Emily's lineage.
