Vagina Monlogues In Philippines
The Vagina Monologue was a victory. They made all of the audience to fall down from their chairs laughing. But before I commented about the play, let me discussed what the monologue did to make someone realizes the humanity of a woman.
It talked about different painful and happy experiences of women who come from different cultures and family backgrounds. It sent across a message that supports the campaign condemning violence against women. It showed how a woman is being treated by a man or even another woman, sexually. It described a woman's experience of rape, of being trapped in a war-torn community, to her happy experiences with a man. It encouraged the public to support women's rights. It gave us real women's stories of intimacy, vulnerability, and sexual self-discovery.
I was not able to watch the first part of the monologue since I was so busy in doing some projects and reports and also, I was having doubts of the play. I thought that it would be listed on my worst......
