CAT IN THE RAIN
In the short story ,writen by E. Hemingway, "CAT IN THE RAIN" , the main character George' s wife sees a cat in the rain from the window of the room. She wants to bring the cat to the room but his husband is indifferent to her request and continues to read his newspaper. Although it seems as an ordinary event, there lies an important point under these lines which makes us think that it is an illusion, indeed, the cat is the wife herself, because there are similarities between their conditions such as they both need help and care,they are ignored by the others except for hotel owner , they are unhappy with their life.
As we see in the story George does not intersted in his wife's concerns. He just reads his paper and replies the wife's quetions in short sentences. it can be understood that she has some psychological problems because she sees illusion and she need help and care.
