Mexican Americans

Through out the years, the Hispanic population appears to be growing in large quantities. The group "Hispanics" range from Mexicans, Cubans, Central and South Americans, Puerto Ricans and other Hispanics. Panethnicity is the development of solidarity between ethnic subgroups. One example of panethicity is when Anglos say that "all Hispanics look alike", they tend to believe that all Latinos are the same due to Hispanics skin color or language spoken. Hispanics are brought together through language, national television, and newspapers or periodicals. Only around twenty-four percent prefer to use panethicity names such as Hispanic or Latino. Hispanics share the heritage of the Spanish language. All Hispanics do not speak Spanish all the time and some do not even know the language. The amount and level of Spanish spoken has to do with the area they live in, the amount of time live in the United States and if they were born here or not.
