The rebel flag – battle flag of the south – is under debate currently because what it symbolizes, do you personally find the flag a symbol of hatred or history?

I feel that in no way is the confederate flag a symbol of hatred. Indeed it was before the civil war, and still is today in some places, however in the "politically correct" society that we have today, it is a symbol of history, a symbol of how far this country has come to be the United States of America. I am aware of the fact that "the flag was used by people involved in the Ku Klux Klan (KKK)", however members of the infamous clan also feel that the white community are the only people who should "walk the earth". I also understand the NAACP's statement that, "if the city of Crestview doesn't respect the feelings of some people, some people ought not to respect the feelings of the city".
