Life sucked back in the sixteenth-century. Luckily, people had a option to colonize in the Americas for a better living. At that time, improvements in navigation and sailling allow the people to travel to the Americas. Europe's political development
also contributed to the colonization of the Americas. The monarchs wanted more power and land equals power. The Americas holds tons of opportunity for the English and Spanish.
After 1450, the strong monarchs of Europe steadily enlarged there spheres of power. They wanted to extend their power and political control. This lead to colonization in the Americas. Power leads to more land, more land leads to more money, and because of this, monarchs in Europe were able to sustain the professional armies and navies capable of protecting the empires abroad. All colonies needs a military to protect them and hold control.
