Interest Group Report
The National Gay Lesbian Task Force (NGLTF) is a dedicated organization focused on ending discrimination based on sexual orientation. Based on the facts found on "csuchico.edu" NGLTF is non-profit organization that challenges stereotypes and ensures equal justice under the law.
Created in 1973 and incorporated in 1974 NGLTF, also referred to as "The Task Force" was created to build roots of political power to win complete equality. Created and incorporated in New York the Task Force started immediately to challenge the American Psychiatric Associations classification of homosexuality as a mental disorder. In 1975 the force rallied for the U.S Civil Service Commission to allow gay people to serve in government employment. The rally was successful.
