The world needs to pay attention to AIDS because of how deadly the disease is. It kills an estimated 3 million lives a year and is unable to be cured. If you have AIDS and do not die from it you will probably die from another disease. It is because AIDS weakness your immune system that even the common cold could develop into a deadly disease and kill you. AIDS is a gruesome disease that destroys your ability defend yourself against from-disease and infection. Mostly every other disease can be battled with your immune system but because AIDS is a disease that attacks the immune system you are unable to protect yourself. AIDS has been around for many years now and the world seems no closer to a cure. The origins of the disease are not really known other then it developed in Africa. The disease has spread over the years and affects more people each year. Area such as Africa that have a huge AIDS epidemic need immediate help before they are lost to the disease.
